Valerie Nibler
In the summer of 2007, Valerie interned as a sustainability adviser to Sam's Club CEO Doug McMillon. This was a unique opportunity for her to gain an insider's perspective on Wal-Mart's sustainability initiatives and to have some influence over the direction of one of the world's largest and most powerful corporations.
Prior to becoming a Presidio MBA student, Valerie was a project manager in the Research and Data group at MSCI Barra, a financial services company. She worked for more than seven years as a consultant in the electric utility industry, primarily focusing on the evaluation of demand-side management programs. With a BS in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research from UC Berkeley, she chose Presidio for her MBA because she wanted to apply her analytical and management skills to the development of values-based, sustainable business. While finishing her coursework at Presidio, Valerie is working with Mass Roots Project to design and build an infrastructure that will aid businesses in producing more sustainable products and empower consumers to make purchasing decisions based on environmental and social principles.
